Redmond Community Information

Redmond communities

Rivertrail is an award-winning development within walking distance to downtown Redmond. There are hundreds of townhouse-style condominium units configured in three-, four- and five-unit buildings. The community is adjacent to the Sammamish River and trail system. For single-family homes, Rose Hill and Education Hill are two of the more established Redmond communities which offer a short travel time for Eastside commuters whether they are going 10 minutes to Microsoft or 15 minutes to downtown Bellevue.

Redmond Ridge and Trilogy are two large, newer communities located halfway between downtown Redmond and Duvall. They provide over 600 acres of designated open space and parks with miles of trails. The community has been created to accommodate condominiums, as well as thousands of both small and large single family residences. There is a public golf course, retail shops, and a YMCA in addition to sports fields located within the community.

Homes on acreage in Redmond's Union Hill, the Burke Farras neighborhood, English Hill, Novelty Hill, and the Ames Lake area (some of the Ames Lake area homes are outside of the Lake Washington School District) provide homebuyers an opportunity to spread out and enjoy their privacy or raise horses. Buyers looking to purchase a home closer to downtown Redmond can expect prices to be higher with some equestrian estate going well over the million dollar range. There are plenty of more affordable homes on acreage available in eastern Redmond. If you travel 10 minutes east to the Snoqualmie Valley, more affordable acreage can be found in Duvall and Carnation along with several small lakes to choose from.

There are many exciting things to do in Redmond. For outdoor enthusiasts, Redmond has an extensive park and trail system on more than 1,350 acres and 25 miles of trails. Recreational facilities range from community, neighborhood and resource parts to undeveloped open space, beautification areas, a waterfront park on Lake Sammamish, a wildlife preserve and a farm with equestrian facilities. Cultural venues include the Eastside Symphony, the Washington Academy of Performing Arts, the Second Story Repertory, Redwood Theatre and a historical museum located in Marymoor Park near the Redmond Town Center.

Marymoor Park is a 640-acre regional county park at the northern end of Lake Sammamish with baseball and soccer fields, tennis courts, and such features as a climbing wall, a field for radio-controlled airplanes and a velodrome (an oval bicycle track for organized racing). An off-leash exercise area offers dogs and their owners a chance to socialize. Not far from Redmond's Marymoor Park are public beaches on Lake Sammamish for the residents to enjoy.

There are a number of great golf courses for Redmond residents. Willows Run Golf Course is the closest to the Redmond Town Center. Within a 20-minute drive golfers can also enjoy the Plateau Club in Sammamish, courses in Bellevue, Carnation and Fall City, and private clubs including Sahalee Country Club in Sammamish, and Bear Creek Country Club in Woodinville. The 1998 PGA Championship Tournament was held at Sahalee, and this event will be returning in several years.
